Jakub Jansa je umělec kombinující různá média od filmu přes instalace až po živé performance. Jeho výstavy mají tendenci splývat s architekturou míst, které obývají. Připomínají filmové nebo televizní kulisy, kde se vyprávění postupně odvíjí prostřednictvím pečlivě promyšlené dramaturgie jednotlivých prvků (videa, objektů, živé akce). Jansa představil svou práci mimo jiné na bienále v Lublani (2021), v CCA v Tel Avivu (2019), HEK v Basileji (2020), Pioneer Works v New Yorku (2018, PAF) nebo na bienále v Athénách (2018). Je držitelem Ceny Jindřicha Chalupeckého za rok 2021. Nejnovější, osmá epizoda Klubu vznikla pro výstavu Květinová unie, pořádanou Národní galerií Praha u příležitosti českého předsednictví v Radě Evropské unie v roce 2022.
Jakub Jansa works in various media ranging from film to sculptural elements, installations and live performances. Each of the exhibition events tends to merge with the architecture of the space they inhabit. They are reminiscent of film or TV sets where the narrative gradually unfolds through a carefully designed dramaturgy of various elements (video, objects, live action) while we – the visitors – move through the space. Jansa has presented his works in Tel Aviv, New York, Basel, Strasbourg, Prague, Zagreb and Ljubljana, among others, and is the recipient of the 2021 Jindřich Chalupecký Award. The latest, eighth episode of the Club, has been commissioned for the Flower Union exhibition organised by the National Gallery in Prague as part of the Czech Presidency of the European Council in 2022.
